President - The Right Reverend Philip Poole

The Rt. Rev. M. Philip Poole was consecrated Area Bishop of York-Credit Valley, Ontario, Canada, on February 5, 2005. Before becoming Bishop, he was rector of Trinity Church, Aurora, Ontario. His path to the priesthood took a circuitous route. Son of an Anglican priest, Philip early developed an interest in outreach and in international ministry--a "giving back to God," he has said. Deciding he was not ready for university immediately after high school, Poole went to work as a stock boy for a multi-national firm in Toronto and eventually went into sales training for the same company. He later enrolled in Wilfred Laurier University, earning a BA in music. His theological degrees are from Trinity College, University of Toronto. Before going to Trinity, Aurora, Poole served two other parishes and was chaplain at Trinity College School, Port Hope.
His wife Karen works in the public schools with children who have special challenges and they have two sons, both university students. Poole is a hockey and Canadian football fan, enjoys bridge and music.
First Vice President - Joey Fan

Joey Fan became a director of the Compass Rose Society in 2007. He is a member of St. Mary's Church in Hong Kong, which itself is a parish member of the Society. Joey is in the information technology business and helped design the new CRS website.
Second Vice President - The Very Reverend Sam Candler
Atlanta, Georgia
Sam Candler is Dean of the Cathedral of St. Philip, Atlanta, one of the largest Episcopal churches in the United States. A graduate of Occidental College, California, with a theology degree from Yale University, he has served in the Diocese of Atlanta except for the years 1993-98 when he was Dean of Trinity Cathedral, Columbia, South Carolina and the years 1985-88 when he served in the Diocese of South Carolina, at St. Paul's Church, Summerville. He is vice president of the Episcopal Media Center and a member of the Board of Trustees of Berkeley Divinity School at Yale. Third Vice President - The Most Reverend Terence (Terry) Finlay
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Terence Finlay is the son of an Anglican priest who served churches in Canada and New York City during his son's school years. Archbishop Finlay attended Western University and Huron College in London, Ontario, and was ordained priest and married in 1962. He and his wife Alice Jean (AJ) lived in England for some years where he earned a masters degree from Cambridge University in 1967.
After serving parishes in the dioceses of Huron and Toronto, he was installed as Tenth Bishop of Toronto in 1989 and in 2000 became Archbishop of Toronto and Metropolitan of the Ecclesiastical Province of Ontario. Archbishop Finlay retired in 2004. Among his interests are reconciliation and building good relations with other churches and with inter faith leaders.

The Rev. Canon Jan Naylor Cope is Vicar of the Washington National Cathedral. Prior to becoming ordained, Jan served on the boards of several governmental, non-profit, and private corporations including the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and the Pennsylvania Avenue Development Corporation, as well as serving on the boards of publicly traded corporations. Jan also served on the Board of Trustees of the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation in Washington, DC and the Washington Theological Consortium prior to becoming Vicar of the National Cathedral.

Charles Andrew Doyle (Andy) was elected bishop coadjutor of the Diocese of Texas and consecrated in 2008 at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, Houston. He was seated as the ninth Bishop of Texas in 2009 at Christ Church Cathedral, Houston, following the retirement of the Rt. Rev. Don Wimberly.

The Reverend Canon John Peterson is Canon for Global Justice and Reconciliation at Washington National Cathedral. John was instrumental in founding the Society while he was Secretary General of the Anglican Communion from 1995 to 2004. Prior to that (1983-1994) he was Dean of St. George’s College in Jerusalem, where he will be returning in retirement to serve the Bishop of Jerusalem for six months each year.

Janie is the retired Missioner for Christian Formation for the Diocese of Texas and Jim is a retired attorney. They are members of Christ Church Cathedral in Houston, Texas. They have travelled with the Society on a number of mission trips and are regular attendees at the annual meeting.
