1. Gladys Liziwe Magidigidi is 53 years old and has been running a small dressmaking and designing business for approximately five years. The business has picked up to the point whereby Gladys now employs two assistants. She applied for R5000 so that she can increase her stock of materials and extend her business capacity. Gladys worships at the Church of the Holy Name, Tembisa West.

2. Magdeline Mosima Fikizolo is 51 years old and is a member of the choir, A.W.F and Church Council at the Church of The Holy Name, Tembisa. Magdeline has been sewing from home with two assistants for four years, sewing mainly curtains, tablecloths and bedding. She applied for R5000 so that she can increase her stock of materials and extend her business potential.

3. Mantombi Mootane is 56 years old and an active member of the Church of the Resurrection, Wattville. She applied for R3500 to buy a new sewing machine for her sewing business making mainly surplices and cassocks for servers, tracksuits for schoolchildren and bed linen etc.,

4. Lindiwe Teresa Masinga is also an active member of the Church of the Resurrection, Wattville, she applied for R3000 with the intention of developing her business further. Lindiwe hires out drapings and seat covers for weddings and other functions and also provides tablecloths, table ware, bowls, etc. She needs to purchase more items for hiring out. She also does flower arrangements for weddings and funerals. She brought some photographs of her work to the interview and is obviously very artistic.

5. Johanna Molaoa is 48 years old and an active member of the Church of the Resurrection, Wattville. Johanna has been sewing from home for six years and has applied for R3000 to increase funds for the purchase of materials, cottons, buttons etc. She would also like to have a telephone installed for her business.

6. Yiliwe Mpambani (Topsy) is 55 years old, and an active member of Church of the Holy Name, Tembisa. She has been successfully running a catering business for three years with her two daughters. Topsy applied for R5000 to purchase more items as she has been awarded a twelve months catering contract with Metrorail providing she improves the quality and quantity of the catering equipment. Topsy intends to employ more people to cope with her growing business.

7. Matshidiso Betty Khalo (Betty) is a 67 year old telephone operator, and a member of Christ the King, Tembisa. She applied for R5000 to purchase telephones for a Public Phone Shop. The phones are movable and battery operated. Betty has done quite extensive Market Research and to this end has found a huge demand for this service. In the area where she lives there are no public phones.

8. Rosina Tefo is 48 years old and applied for R5000 to increase the distribution of the farm and poultry products she has been selling for approximately seven years. She specifies that she needs to purchase a bigger fridge to hold more produce and to prevent wastage due to the food not being refrigerated. She intends to extend into areas which are not currently being served. Rosina is a member of St Agnes Church, Balfour.

9. Elsie Thembi Ramakgapola is 45 years old and a member of St Boniface, Vosloorus. She applied for R5000 in order to have a telephone installed for her tuck-shop business that she runs from her home, and to increase her stock. There is no public phone (for making orders) in the area where Elsie lives and no shopping facilities.

10. Jane Kachelenga is 36 years old and a member of Evander congregation. She is using the money to buy a new sewing machine, some materials and cottons, for a sewing business. She is a Police Reservist, a trauma counsellor and part of the Home Based Care team in her area. She has received R5000.

11. Pretty Nonyukela is 30 years old and is currently in business selling Blankets, Ladies Clothing and Cosmetics. She has used the money to buy more stock. She is part of the Evander congregation and also a Police Reservist, a traumas counsellor and part of the Home Based Care team in her area. She has also received R5000.

12. Mabel Mashishi is a member of the congration of the Church of the Holy Name in Tembisa West. She is 60 years old and sells soft goods – trading with people such as nurses, teachers, members of the church etc. She applied for a loan of R5000 in order to increase her stock.

13. Nontsikelelo Matrose is also a member of the Tembisa East congregation where she is active in the Mothers Union. She is now running a business hiring equipment to the community such as Chairs, Tables, Gas Stoves and Catering Equipment. She applied for the loan of R5000 in order to buy the equipment that she is hiring out.

14. Eugenia Mbombo is 51 years old and is a member of the Church of the Holy Name, Tembisa East, and is also the wife of the Priest at that church. She applied for the loan in order to buy a stock of linen and soft goods to sell in the community. She has received R5000.

15. Lydia Tsotestsi is a member of the Tembisa West congregation. She is 46 years old and applied for R3000 so that she could start a small food outlet for local industrial workers. She has purchased a gas stove, gas cylinders, cooking pots and a table with the money she has received from this project.

16. Deborah Mashaba is 63 years old and make clothing and curtains. The loan of R5000 has enabled her to buy a new sewing machine and a greater stock of materials. She works from home and sells to schools and local residents. She is member of the parish of Tembisa East.

17. Gloriance Luthuli, also from Tembisa East is 67 years old. She sews school uniforms, track suits and wedding gowns. She applied for the loan as she needed an industrial sewing machine to keep pace with the work. She also sews choir robes for the church. She has received R5000.

18. Helen Moerane, from the Church of the Holy Name, Tembisa East is also involved in a small sewing business, making dresses, doing alterations and general sewing. She requested money for a new sewing machine and materials for school uniforms. She has receieved R5000.

19. Diagracia Ngxabi applied for R5000 in order to purchase a computer and printer. She writes programs, CV’s and is engage in teaching and training basic computer skills, photocopying and faxing. She is a member of the Tembisa East Congregation and is 66 years old.

20. Annah Nolanga Kekana is 58 years old and worships in the congregation of Christ the King, Tembisa West. She applied for R5000 in order to start a small shop at her house. She will be selling groceries and some Tuckshop items. The money is to be used for the purchase of shelving and stock.

21. Nazali Conway is in her thirties. She has recently moved to the parish of Nigel and needs the money to start up a catering business. She was previously in the parish of Standerton and ran a very successful business there. When this is running successfully she would like to give cooking lessons to others, particularly teenagers.
