Canadian Society 2011 AGM
By Terry Noble
Oct. 15, 2011
The Canadian Compass Rose Society held its Annual General Meeting in Toronto on June 7, 2011.
Bishop Poole, President of the International Society and Secretary of
the Canadian Board, talked to the board about that year's Communion Visit to Brazil. He explained how he learned after the visit that some people didn't want visitors from abroad to come to their church because it was in derelict shape. After we left, they rejoiced in the fact that Anglicans from five different countries would visit them and take the time to get to know them.
Bruce Chambers, Treasurer of the Canadian Society, presented the
financial statements for 2010. Annual gifts grew by about 9% from 2009. This is just over $1,500 per member. Donor advised gifts were also up by a similar percentage. Revenues were up close to 20% overall.
The slate of directors and officers was adopted by the meeting.
The financial statements for 2010 are attached here below.
