New Members - Diocese of Ontario Chapter

By Anne Patterson, Diocese of Ontario
Apr. 9, 2011

The Diocese of Ontario -  We are the new kids on the block!!

Hurray! We finally made it - a chapter - the Diocese of Ontario, the See situated in beautiful, historic Kingston, Ontario on Lake Ontario where it meets the Rideau and St. Lawrence Rivers. We have been slow in recruiting, but like the tortoise, we finally made it. . .

The Diocese of Ontario is in transition at the present time with Bishop George Bruce retiring at the end of August 2011. On 12 February we held elections for a Co-adjutor Bishop and we welcome Canon Michael Oulton, presently incumbent in Christ Church, Belleville as our 12th Bishop. The consecration will be held on 11 June 2011 in the Cathedral Church of St. George.

Three members of CRS are going to be travelling to Rio de Janeiro and Belem in April on the mission trip hosted by our General Secretary of the Anglican Communion, Kenneth Kearon. Connie and Bob Gardiner and Anne Patterson have their suitcases packed and ready for this wonderful adventure!

Our members look forward to communicating with other chapters of the CRS as well as participating in events both here in Canada and overseas. We are eager to learn more about the Society and the wonderful mission outreach and study sessions led by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
