2011 Communion Visit to Brazil
By Terry Noble
May. 6, 2010
19 members of the Society traveled to Brazil during April 2011, experiencing the distinctive expression of the Anglican Communion found there.
The first part of the trip was to Rio de Janeiro, where members are saw the local church's ministry in the Cidade de Deus (City of God).
Later, members flew to Belem near the mouth of the Amazon River. The Amazon River basin has sometimes been called "God's Garden" and members witnessed the ministry of the church in that region.
The visit concluded on Sunday, April 10th following worship.
There are some excellent videos on the USPG website that describe the ministries of the Anglican Episcopal Church in Brazil. Click here for one describing the City of God and here for one about the Amazon River basin.

The Society is very grateful to Archbishop Mauricio de Andrade, Primate of Brazil, for extending his gracious invitation to visit his church and experience its ministries.
