The Compass Rose Communicator

Jul 2008 issue

The Anglican Communion is a worldwide family of Churches committed to helping our sisters and brothers in Jesus Christ throughout the world. There are more than 70 million Anglican Christians in 38 Provinces spread across 164 countries on every continent. Anglicans speak many languages and come from different races and cultures. Our Churches are united through their history, their theology, worship and relationship to the Archbishop of Canterbury.

We trace our roots back to the early Church and our separate identity to the post-Reformation expansion of the Church of England and later the Episcopal Church of the United States. We uphold and proclaim the Apostolic faith and confess the Catholic creeds. Scripture, tradition, and reason are the lenses through which we seek to understand our faith and proclaim and live it afresh, in each time and place. Following the teachings of Jesus Christ, the Anglican Communion is committed to proclaiming the Good News of the Gospel to the whole of creation.

The goal of the Compass Rose Society is to help communicate the needs of Churches that are suffering. We ask you to join us. Will you help us?
