A New Chapter for Our Communion | March 2026

"That they all may be one..." John 17:21

Dear Friends,

I write to you at a truly extraordinary moment in the life of our Anglican Communion. We stand on the eve of a historic milestone—the installation of the first woman to serve as Archbishop of Canterbury. The Holy Spirit continues to move in bold and transformative ways across our global family of faith, calling us not only to celebration but to deeper commitment to one another, to our shared mission, and to the unity that Christ commands of us.

It is in this spirit of hope and holy purpose that we invite you to partner with The Compass Rose Society.

The Compass Rose Society exists to foster unity within the global Anglican Communion and to support mission and ministry worldwide. We financially support the Anglican Communion Office, including the vital work of the General Secretary and the international ministry of the Archbishop of Canterbury. As this new chapter of leadership begins, our work has never been more important or more full of promise.

But we do not simply write a check. We journey alongside our siblings in Christ, building trust, understanding, and authentic relationships. We organize pilgrimages and events that deepen the bonds holding our Communion together. We raise awareness that the Episcopal Church is part of a global family of more than 85 million Anglicans—and we encourage Episcopalians everywhere to get involved.

With members in Aotearoa/New Zealand, Tanzania, Hong Kong, Canada, England, and the United States, the Compass Rose Society is a living witness to the breadth and beauty of our Communion—and we are growing, working with parishes, dioceses, institutions, schools, and students who share a passion for global connection and Christ-centered unity.

As Archbishop Sarah takes up the shepherd's staff, your financial support and partnership will help ensure the Anglican Communion Office has the resources it needs, that relationships across the Communion continue to deepen, and that the Episcopal Church remains a vibrant member of this worldwide family.

I humbly ask you to prayerfully consider how you might support this work. Please join us. This is a moment of new beginnings—let us walk into it together. I would welcome the opportunity to speak with your vestry, diocesan council, or congregation about the work we share, fostering unity and supporting mission.

With gratitude,

The Rt. Rev. Daniel G.P. Gutiérrez
President of the Compass Rose Society
XVI Bishop of Pennsylvania
